Tangalle Magistrate Bandula Hirimburegama yesterday directed the CID to seek the advice of the Attorney General on refunding the monies deposited, by several investors, with Piyadasa Ratnayake alias Danduwan Mudalali with the cash and other assets held by him at the time of his death.

Danduwan Mudalali was alleged to have defrauded several millions of rupees from 12,650 people on the promise of paying back the investments with high interests.

The CID prosecuted.

Danduwan Mudalali was mysteriously killed on May 20 this year and his body dumped inside the vehicle he was traveling to Colombo in.

The case was postponed for March 26, 2010.
