Sampath Bank's name is synonymous with high disclosure requirements and transparency in the banking and financial services industry. This was amply acknowledged by the South Asian Federation of Accountants [SAFA] by presenting the Joint 1st Runner-Up Award for Best Presented Accounts in the Banking Institutions category to the Bank's Annual Report 2008.

South Asian Federation of Accountants [ SAFA] is an apex body of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation [ SAARC] and a regional grouping of International Federation of Accountants [ IFAC]. The aim of the awards is to promote high degree of financial disclosure and good corporate governance among the organizations in the member countries.

Sampath Bank has won this prestigious award twice before in 2004 and 2005 from SAFA, in addition to winning many corporate awards presented by local bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka and ACCA - Sri Lanka.

The Award ceremony was held on the 05th November 2009 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Hall in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
