Nindana murderers get 18 years RI

Ambalangoda: Balapitiya High Court Judge Amal Thilakaratne sentenced the two accused in the Nindana murder case to 18 years Rigorous Imprisonment as they were found guilty of culpable homicide.

They were indicted with the murder of Perumadura Piyadasa of Nagahagoda, Nindana by stabbing him to death during a heated argument, on June 17, 1989.

The duo was fined Rs. 10,000, and in default an additional six-month in jail.

The accused were Uththamawadu Nandasiri of Nagahagoda, Nindana and Uduwilaarachchi Nandana of the same address, in the Meetiyagoda police area.

It was revealed that the first accused had died a couple of years ago.
