The Netolpitiya Rural Bank, in the Tangalla police area, was burgled recently and cash and other valuables removed. The burglars had made off with Rs. 1,000 in cash, mobile phone cards valued at Rs. 5,000 and an electronic weighting machine used to weigh gold articles which had been purchased recently for Rs. 120,000.

The burglars had entered the bank by removing the tiles on the roof.

The Tangalla Police Crimes branch has deployed a team to investigate .
