The construction of an oil refinery and a 400 Megawatt power plant, which were delayed for a long time, will soon be a reality, according to Minister of Port and Civil Aviation Chamal Rajapaksa.

One hundred acres in Siribopura new town has been earmarked for the project. It will generate 60,00 employment opportunities, the Minister said.

A desalination project to convert sea water for drinking purposes also will be implemented.
