The Akuressa Police have arrested an LTTEsuspect believed to have been involved in terror attacks in the South, especially in the Akuressa bomb explosion on March 10 2009, which killed several people and seriously injured Minister Mahinda Wijesekera.

Following interrogation of the suspect, police recovered two hand grenades, a 12 bore shot gun, seven rounds of T-56 ammunition and a T-56 magazine, hidden in the ceiling of a house in Maliduwa.
