Leader of the UNP Ranil Wickremesinghe said yesterday that his party would back the candidature of General (Rtd) Sarath Fonseka at the forthcoming Presidential Election.

The decision was taken at the party’s Working Committee meeting, held at Sri Kotha yesterday. Addressing the press, he urged party members to campaign for the former army Chief and ensure his victory.
