The Government yesterday launched an investigation to ascertain whether purchasing of arms, ammunition and other war related material through a foreign based institution by the name Hicorp was in order or whether any irregularities had taken place.

A large quantity of war related material had been purchased by the Sri Lanka military through Hicorp

The investigation was result of a journalist’s query at a press briefing, called by President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on yesterday, whether there had been any irregularities in the purchase of arms through Hicorp.
