NDB sponsors Mercantile Tennis Tournament 2009
NDB Bank will be the sponsor for this year’s Mercantile Tennis Tournament, the only annual tennis competition conducted for the local commercial sector, which will be held from Dec. 5–18 at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association (SLTA) hard courts in Colombo.
This was announced at a media briefing on Thursday (26), at SLTA headquarters. Indrajith Wickremasinghe, who represented NDB Bank at the occasion made a symbolic presentation of the sponsorship package to Maxwell de Silva, President, SLTA. Kumar Gunawardena, Treasurer, SLTA and Boshan Dayaratne, Gen. Secretary, SLTA, were also present.
Entries for this year’s Mercantile Tournament will close on Dec. 1 and the draw will be held on Dec. 4. The Tournament Referee will be Avantha Suranimala.
Events to be held at this year’s tournament:
Men’s Singles (in Div. I, II and III) and Doubles
Women’s Singles and Doubles
Mixed Doubles
Men’s Senior’s Singles and Doubles in the Over-35, 45 and 55 age groups.
