Yesterdays turnover recorded huge gains in both the turnover as well as the indices. Turnover shot up from Rs.368 million to a record over Rs.1.8 billion, which analysts said was due to developments in the political environment.

The ASi gained 34.43 points and reached 2,913.39 from the previous days 2,878.96 while Milanak also recorded a growth of 43.12 points up from 3,282.96 to 3,326.09.

Among the transactions which crossed the 500,000 threshold by volume (value discounted) were DFCC 12,224mn at Rs.139.50 losing Rs.1.50 , Mullers 10,963mn at Rs.1.00 gaining =/10cts and Sierra Cables 2,084mn at Rs.2.00 (n/c)
