Intel advances education in SL through technology

Supporting the effective integration of technology and education, Intel EM Limited launched the Intel® Teach Directors’ Leadership Technology Forum (DLTF) recently for Education Ministry officials in the North and East of Sri Lanka. The forum, held at The Village, Polonnaruwa, highlighted the importance of leadership in promoting and modeling the use of technology in education and instructor development.

Attended by Zonal Directors of Education, the DLTF was an introduction to the Intel Teach initiative that explored significant research and behaviors related to sustaining efficient technology integration and associated growth.

The Leadership Forum guides leaders as they support and promote effective integration of technology. Participants engage in research about technology integration and student inquiry as an effective approach to improving student achievement.

In addition, the forum provides direction and options for developing plans that can be implemented to address the specific needs of the schools in the North and East.

Commenting on the occasion Indika de Zoysa, Country Business Manager, Intel EM Limited, Sri Lanka Liaison office said, "Administrators seeking to enhance teaching and learning experiences require a better understanding of how to use technology in a classroom environment. To this end, Intel has launched DLTF to offer education officials in the North and East an opportunity to explore and identify available technology tools, in addition to providing them with the means to access and utilize these resources. This initiative is part of Intel’s ongoing efforts to create space for effective student participation in a knowledge-based environment."
