Suraj Randiv takes eight

A rare eight-wicket haul from Bloomfield’s Suraj Randiv, formerly Suraj Mohamed, was the pick of the action on the first day of round-nine of this season’s Premier League on Fri. (4).

Suraj, an off-spinner who opened bowling for Bloomfield in their match against Chilaw Marians CC on Friday, took his eight wickets in 14.3 overs giving away 50 runs while bowling three maidens.

After eight rounds in the tournament, NCC now lead the points table with three wins. Chilaw Marians are in the second place with two wins and 64.44 points while Bloomfield is in the third place with two wins and 62.99 points.

There are 12 clubs featuring in Premier League Tier ‘A’ this season. SSC are in the fourth place with a single win and no loss. Both Badureliya SC and Colts CC notched up two wins each, yet they hold the fifth and sixth places, respectively.

This year’s Premier League began on Oct. 2. There will be three more rounds to go before the tournament comes to an end on Dec. 28.
