Tiger in bomb plot arrested at airport
Officials of the Western Province Police Intelligence arrested a high ranking LTTE cadre, at the Katunayake Airport on Tuesday, suspected of planning bomb attacks in Colombo after the defeat of the LTTE.

Following his arrest Police recovered 12 claymore mines hidden in a jungle in Vavuniya to be exploded in Colombo.

Police said that the suspect was involved

in several past bomb explosions in Colombo. His accomplice was arrested in Vavuniya two weeks ago and following his interrogation by a team of Police official on the instruction of DIG North Nimal Lewke the second suspect was arrested at the Airport. He was about to take a flight to India when he was arrested.

Police investigations also revealed that both suspects were operating from Mattakuliya and were receiving instructions from a Malaysian based LTTE leader. On several occasions in the recent past remittances had been made to their local bank accounts, Police said.
