Health Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said the final report on the death of thirteen-year-old Asanthi Wasana following a Rubella vaccination, would be available by the end of week by the committee appointed to look into the issue.

Spokesman for the Health Ministry said, that the Investigations Unit of the Health Ministry too had also carried out an inquiry into the death, and handed their report to Health Secretary over the weekend. But the Intellectual Committee report has not been submitted their report yet.

"We already have the report on the Rubella vaccine sent after the laboratory test in Australia. We will draw up the final report with or without the Intellectual Committee report," he stated, quoting the Health Minister.

The Intellectual Committee was given till Thursday, to hand over the report of their investigations into the child’s death in mid October. (DJ)
