The Organisation of Professional Associations of Sri Lanka (OPA) wishes to express its deep concern over the recent statement by the Commissioner of Elections that the Police is not following his instructions, and the Media are not following his guidelines, as required by Law.

The OPA hereby calls upon all Presidential Candidates, Political Parties, Police & Public Service and the Media-both State and Private - to assist the Commissioner of Elections to carry out a free and fair Presidential Election by complying with his instructions and guidelines.
