Accolade for Amba which maintains 200-strong Colombo office
Amba Research, a global investment research and analytics support service company with one of its five worldwide offices in Colombo, has been ranked among the world’s top three investment research KPOs (Knowledge Process Outsourcing) vendors according to an internationally recognized publication.
Amba Research Lanka (ARL) which began operations here in October 2003 in a small Park Street, Colombo 2, office with a staff of 10 and three clients has today grown to nearly 600 staff globally of which 200 sit in the firm’s World Trade Centre office in Colombo 1.
"Our global client base has grown over to 70 clients from North America, Europe and Asia," a spokeswoman for ARL said.
The international ranking of Amba has been made by the Black Book of Outsourcing Survey of 2009 which covers areas such as trust, training, delivery excellence, skill ability, data security and many other areas that clients take into consideration when engaging with an outsourcing partner.
Amba which was founded by senior research directors from Goldman Sachs, Deutche Bank and J.P. Morgan has offices in New York, London, Singapore, Bangalore, Colombo and San Jose (Costa Rica).
Many senior staff members of ARL have moved on to work directly for the company’s clients overseas while others have progressed to take over specialist positions in areas such as research delivery and knowledge management, the ARL spokeswoman said.
ARL employs the largest concentration of CFA (Certified Financial Analysts) charter-holders as well as the largest number of fully qualified CIMA members in Sri Lanka, she said.
