If Sarath Fonseka contests the next general election
from the Galle District, Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Wijelal
de Silva will enter the fray on the UPFAticket.
The Chief Minister said that Fonseka had learnt a bitter
lesson at the recently concluded Presidential election and he would be
another lesson which he would not forget, if he decided to contest from
the Galle District.
Recalling Fonseka’s defeat in his birth place,
Ambalangoda, at the Presidential election, the Chief Minister said the
UPFA would score a spectacular win at the forthcoming parliamentary
polls. He said he was confident that the UPFA would have seven MPs from
the Galle District.
