This year I noticed fewer Lion Flags than last year, in the country during Independence Day celebrations. I was driving from Anuradhapura to Colombo and hardly saw any Lion flags in houses or vehicles.
Recently there have been critical article about ‘Colombians’. Most leaders who have ruled Sri Lanka were from Colombo. They sacrificed their personal wealth for the country. Also most decent people in Colombo help do a lot of social service in the villages by paying taxes. Even if some ‘Colombians’ think and act differently, they have a right in a democracy. Today I feel the Country is more divided than before the war.
