A woman recently lodged a complaint with the Kalutara South police station claiming that her husband had gone missing for two weeks.

Police investigations found that the missing man was in fact living with his mistress in Kitulawa in an area close to his village.

An officer called both parties to the police station and offered to settle the dispute.

The man told police that he had started an extra-marital affair since his wife didn’t bear children and added that his mistress had become pregnant.

To everyone’s surprise, the wife told police that she wanted to adopt the child to be born and shyly added: "I don’t mind his visiting the paramour once in while."
