N. Korea show class, India miss out on semis

FIFA 2011 World Cup qualifiers, North Korea on Friday recorded a convincing 4-0 victory over Kyrgyzstan in a Group B match of in the Asian Football Confederation Challenge Cup 2010 at Sugathadasa stadium on Friday.

With this win they moved to the top position in group B with 5 goals under their belt.

On Friday, they took an early lead in the 29th minute through mid-fielder Pak Song Chol and were leading 1-0 at half-time. After change of ends, their forward Pak Kwang Ryong made it 2-0 in the 47th minute.

North Korea was controlling the game having most of the possession of the ball and their mid-fielder Choe Myong Ho netted in the third goal in the 65th minute.

Their fourth goal came through the courtesy of Ri Chol Myong in the 68th minute.

In yesterday’s second game, Turkmenistan beat India 1-0 denying the defending champions a semi-final berth.

The solitary goal was scored in the 26th minute of the game.
