IFS drives technology in the paint and ink industry

The importance of a good enterprise resources planning (ERP) system in the highly specialized paint and ink industry can never be underestimated. And global giant for component based business software, IFS responded to the industry’s unique needs with an agile and flexible solution.

Shortly after its launch, several leading paint and ink manufacturers in the world including Teknos, Akzo Nobel, Jotun, and Becket Acroma, have chosen IFS’ offering to help boost revenue and cut costs.

According to Jayantha De Silva –Vice President IFS South Asia, "With many world leading references in paint and ink industry, IFS constantly keeps upgrading its solution with new features that are industry unique. This constantly evolving product is offered to companies in the region and world best practices are encouraged along with it."

He pointed out that the advantage in this arrangement is that the implementation and support which are the ‘making or breaking’ factors of ERP projects, would be handled by the very people who develop, own and maintain the product globally.

"Thus 100% expertise on product and implementation methodology, followed by a much needed support right throughout, would be handled by the source of the product," he elaborated.

He further said the main Research & Development centre being in Sri Lanka enables IFS to bring in the Asian flavor into the solution. This specially helps the Asian customers to use some of the very specific Asian requirement especially in the Paint & Ink sector.

The four key-processes of IFS are Service & Asset, Manufacturing, Project and Supply Chain. IFS provides industry-specific functionality for enterprises in paint and ink, food and beverage, chemicals, pulp and paper, and metals segments.
