Museum workers drink ‘carcass juice’

The Secretary to Cultural Affairs Ministry, Wimal Rubesinghe said some of the staff members of the National Museum who were on a drinking spree during the annual all night Pirith Ceremony of the Museum were severely warned.

Museum sources said that the majority of the staff who attended the Pirith Ceremony and those who went on a drinking binge imbibed spirits kept in the museum to preserve the carcasses of animals when they had finished their quota of liquor.
