Inter-Provincial T-20 Cricket
Wayamba cruise to fourth successive win

Skipper Jehan Mubarak, with two wickets and 62 quick and unbeaten runs, carried his team Wayamba to the fourth successive win on Sunday (28) in their match against Basnahira North at the ongoing Inter-Provincial Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament, sponsored by Bank of Ceylon, at Welagedara Stadium, Kurunegala.  Jeevantha Kulatunga scored 53 in 34 balls.

Another notable personal feat recorded on Sunday was the fine 58, scored in just 35 balls, by the SLC Combined XI’s Bhanuka Rajapaksa, against Basnahira South. The young SLC outfit, though, lost the match and thus remained the only win-less side in this five-round competition which will end next Sunday at Moratuwa.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Chandimal, 20, former Ananda College right-hander who has played for SL U-19, guided Ruhuna to win over strong Kandurata with a timely 65 which was made in 42 balls. Ruhuna, after this win, hold the second place of the points table over Kandurata (with two wins), Basnahira North (only one win) and Basnahira South (one win so far) respectively.
