His football career on and off the field was full of incidents. His exceptional abilities in the sport grabbed the headlines as much as drugs, tax and sex scandals and for that infamous ‘hand of God’. Having made a remarkable return to football as the coach of Argentina national team two years ago after years in the wilderness due to drug abuse, Maradona again started to grab the headlines. Argentina didn’t have a smooth run on their way to qualification for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and Maradona was largely blamed for the poor run. But his determination hasn’t wavered and he’s very much focused on giving Argentina another World Cup. |
