Maria, the bride wore a bare shouldered gown the skirt of which was gathered to create a ruche effect. A single layer of tulle made her short, veil, which flowed from a few roses in her hair, and she carried a posy of white and pale lilac tinted roses. The groom cut a dash in his grey tail coat and slacks he wore with an ivory self patterned waistcoat, white shirt and grey cravat. The single bridesmaids wore a mauve toned saree in simple charmeuse and she too carried a posy of roses. Specially here for the occasion was Stephen Wanigasekera’s aunt Lesly Gunasinghe and her husband Nihal, and his uncle Adrien Vannier from Paris. Maria whose surname is Bernucco had members of her family too to join in this celebration.
