The ancient Mihintale dagoba was damaged by
lightning on Saturday. Chief Incumbent of the temple
Walahahengunaweve Dhammarathana Thero said a section of the second 'Pesawalalla'
of the dagoba had been damaged.The lightning arrester was faulty and
the Archaeology Department had been requested to repair it but to no
