The UDA is no longer the Urban Development Authority but the Urban Demolition Agency which goes around demolishing houses, Opposition leader Ranil Wickremesinghe charged in Parliament yesterday.

He sad that 80 houses at Mews Street in Colombo, to which the house owners had deeds, were demolished without any alternate accommodation being provided.

Prior to the houses being demolished, such an order should be gazetted but this had not been done he said. (SI)
