Tillekeratne Dilshan reached great heights in the year 2009. Regular centuries in both Test and ODI cricket was coupled by an award at the annual ICC Awards for the T-20 Performance of the Year. He was also named as the Sri Lankan Cricketer of the Year in 2009. Following the success, Dilshan was named as the captain of the Sri Lankan ODI squad as regular captain Kumar Sangakkara took a break from the series in Zimbabwe, a place where Dilshan made both his Test and ODI debuts and brought up his maiden Test hundred. |
