Prasad Galhena new Shipping Corp. Chairman
Prasad Galhena has been appointed Chairman of the Ceylon Shipping Corporation by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
He was responsible for making Laksala a profit making institution, which was earlier in a critical financial and management crisis.
Galhena is currently Commissioner in the Public Utilities Commission and has been assigned the task of bringing the Shipping Corporation to being an effective and renowned business enterprise capable of achieving the objectives of the government.
The CSC plays a major role in earning valuable foreign exchange and Galhena is confident of fulfiling the challenges to achieve the ultimate task of regularising the CSC to being a better organisation. Galhena a CIMA qualified professional who holds the fellowship of CIMA in Britain, with a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Colombo, is confident of meeting the exacting CSC challenge.
