The Musaeus College Triathlon 2014, held on May 3, featured walkers, runners, cyclists, riders on horseback, trucks as well as a vehicle parade of vintage and classic cars.

The vehicle parade started at 7.00 a.m. from Nelum Pokuna and the main parade started at 8.00 a.m. from the school. The parade set off to the Bloomfield cricket grounds, where a mini-fair was held.

The event was organized with the aim of bringing past pupils together, and to rekindle their loyalty to the school.

The response received from the past pupils was immense, with more than 5000 walk packs sold with one week to go for the event.

The pack also served as an entrance ticket for the event. It included a T-shirt, two badges and a wrist band. All proceeds of the walk pack was towards the sports fund of the school.

This year marks the 123rd anniversary of the school and the 80th anniversary of the PPA.

For the past Musaeites, it was a day to be back with their Alma Mater, to meet old school friends, have a fun day and an opportunity to proudly parade the city of Colombo, with the school flags flying, presenting the school motto, ‘Follow the Light’.
