Strange police internal justice!

by Madura Ranwala

Following a private television channel reporting two police constables performing labourer’s work at the Borella police station, one of the police constable has been interdicted forthwith.

Police have questioned the concerned police constable whether he had contacted the media organisation.

Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana, asked why one of the police constables, had been interdicted when there were two constables telecast sweeping the garden of the said police station whilst on duty, the SSP said the interdicted constable had given a voice cut to media and it was an offence according to the department regulations.

When queried whether there were similar instances where police officers had  been interdicted merely voicing their predicament to media in the past, he said, "Not in the recent past, but in the past."

However, The Island learns that the concerned police constable was threatened by an outsider, following a heated argument with the latter in the said police station, two-and-a-half month ago, while he was serving in the Kirulapone police station that he would be interdicted in ten minutes
