Injunction on elected GMOA office bearers lifted

A restraining order on the election of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) Executive Committee members was lifted yesterday.

Addressing the media yesterday GMOA Assistant Secretary and Media Spokesman Dr. Navin de Soysa  said that the GMOA Executive Committee comprising Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya (President), Dr. Lasantha Jinadasa (General Secretary), Dr. Nath Wijesooriya (Treasurer), Dr. Nalin Ariyaratne (Assistant Secretary), Dr. Navin de Soysa (Assistant Secretary), Dr. Nalinda Herath (Assistant Secretary), Dr. Kanchana Bulankulama (Assistant Secretary), Dr. Sai Niranjan (Editor) and Dr. Samantha Ananda (Assistant Editor) had resumed its work.

Dr. de Soysa said the GMOA General Committee appointed a Board of Trustees in keeping with the injunction order.

GMOA President Dr. Anuruddha Padeniya said that the GMOA was aware of the ulterior motives of the seven doctors who had been trying to sabotage the activities of the GMOA. The Executive Committee would take disciplinary action against them, he added. against the seven doctors who tried to destroy the GMOA.
