Annual Governor’s meeting before Presidential polls

Governor of the Uva province Nanda Mathew said that the Governors would have to fix a date between September 20 and the next Presidential elections to hold the 17th annual meeting of the Governors’ Association in the province.


Governor Mathew said that all matters such as the agenda for the next Governors’ meeting would be taken by incumbent President of the Governors’ Association, Governor of the Sabragamuwa Province W. J. M. Lokubandara in consultation with the Governors’ of the other eight provinces.


Earlier in the absence of the Governor of the Western Province Alavi Mowlana, his Secretary Sunil Abeywardena said that the 16th annual meeting of the Governors’ Association had been held under the Presidency of the Governor of the Sabragamuwa province in 2013 in Udawalawe.
