JVP, ex-CJ join forces to oppose third term for MR

The JVP had decided to conduct  a series of seminars  throughout the country to oppose President Mahinda Rajapaksa seeking a third term in violation of the Constitution, JVP Propaganda Secretary and Parliamentarian Vijitha Herath said yesterday.


The countrywide seminars would be Co-Chaired by JVP Leader and MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake and former Chief Justice (CJ) Sarath Nanda Silva, MP Herath said.


The first of these seminars will be held in the Kandy District on Wednesday Oct. 15 and the second will be held at New Town Hall auditorium in Colombo on Friday Oct. 17 both commencing from 3.30 pm.


According to the programme so far finalised seminars are scheduled to be held in the Matara District on Monday October 20 and in Galle on Tuesday October21 both commencing at 3.30 pm.
