ISO accreditation for Staff Development Centre

The Staff Development Centre of the Kelaniya University  recently received the ISO 9001-2008 accreditation from the Sri Lanka Standards Institute (SLSI) for its Staff Development Programme it conducts for lecturers of higher educational institutions in Sri Lanka, marking a milestone in the history of Staff training at tertiary level.  


The certificate was awarded in recognition of the Centre’s commitment to implement international quality standards in its Staff Development Programme, which is compulsory for all probationary staff members in universities and HEIs.


 This certification reflects the Centre’s objectives and aspirations to offer the best staff training programme for newly recruited staff members in Sri Lankan higher educational institutions according to national and international standards.


 The SDC strives to become the centre of excellence for enhancing knowledge, skills and attitudes of the stakeholders of the Sri Lankan higher education sector by providing professional development opportunities and resources to meet the evolving needs of Sri Lankan higher educational institutions.


 Here Deputy Director of the Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) Mr. T.G. Gamini Dharnawardana handing over the ISO 9001-2008 certificate to Vice Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya, Prof. Sunanda Madduma Bandara.
