IronOne Technologies, with offices in Colombo and a presence in the USA and Malaysia, earlier this month explained the services it offers members of the Colombo Stock Exchange to enhance internet enabled stock trading activities at an event attended by CEOs and selected senior managers of CSE member firms.

Lakmini Wijesundera, Co-founder and CEO of IronOne explained that internet enabled stock trading is the trend for the future.

"IronOne’s offering is positioned to increase awareness and enthusiasm of trading at the ease of your office or home with total control. It also spearheads the ability for Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) to promote trading by foreign funds and investors to boost the trading volumes," she explained.

"The solution has key focus on such objectives and the solution being launch has been positioned to work seamlessly with Bloomberg trading terminals and other such global trading platforms."

The solution is built with Sri Lankan engineering talent combined with the global expertise and experience gained by IronOne and it’s professionals through the years, Wijesundera said.

She said that Atrad, a sophisticated solution developed by IronOne that facilitates stock trading for investors as well as having the capability to act as a back end for brokers, has already gained acceptance and appreciation among clients as a browser based platform over the last eight years.

The Atrad desktop was showcased at the Dec. 19 forum.

"With the drive to encourage foreign investment, both by the CSE and stock broking firms, Atrad’s ability to handle orders placed by third parties with ease, using their own systems and receiving backward status updates in real-time is a valuable feature," IronOne explained in a news release.

IronOne was founded by two entrepreneurs with engineering backgrounds, Lakmini Wijesundera and Sanje Widyaratne in 2006. The company which began with 10 technology professionals has grown to a team with over 100 technology professionals with service coverage in over 15 countries.

The company’s clients include Malaysia Stock Exchange (Bursa Malaysia), Delloite & Touche, Maxis Telecom, May Bank Financial Group, RHB Financial Group, Hong Leong Financial Group and many others. May Bank and Hong Leong consist of the largest stock broking and wealth management firms regionally in the Asia Pacific.

In Sri Lanka, IronOne’s clientele covers over 40% of the listed companies and large enterprises including JKH, Carsons, Commercial Bank, Sampath, BOC, Union Bank, People’s Leasing, SriLankan Airlines, Seylan, MBSL, Good Hope, Nations Trust Bank, CSE and many others.
