Rajitha and 13 others ordered to appear in High Court

Alleged abduction of girl

Colombo High Court Judge Lalith Jayasuriya yesterday issued notice on Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, his son Eksath Senaratne and twelve others, ordering them to be present in Court on April 2, 2015.

 The notice is in respect of a Habeas Corpus application filed by Arambage Gamini Ranasinghe and his wife Indira Rodrigo, complaining that their daughter, Dinithi Aloka Ranasinghe, aged 16 years, was abducted and retained by the respondents, since February 24, 2014.

 Petitioners have requested the Court to produce the girl before the court and hand her over to the parents and order compensation.

 Among the respondents are Eksath Senaratne, Chathura Senaratne, Dr. Sujatha Senaratne, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne, Sarupa Manatunga, Oshada Herath, Samantha Kumara, K. A. A. Gamage Officer-in-Charge, Colombo, National Child Protection Authority, Officer-in-Charge Bopage of the same Institution, Senior Superintendant of Police of the Institution, Dinithi Aloka Ranasinghe and the IGP.

Counsel Kithsiri Liyanage appeared for the petitioners, the parents of the girl.
