GCE A/L exam begins on Tuesday

The GCE Advanced Level Examination 2015 will commence on Tuesday (04).

The Examination Department sources said that there were 309,669 candidates of whom 236,072 were school applicants. The examination would be conducted at 2,180 centres countrywide. The department has set up 303 coordinating centres.

Police Headquarters has informed all police stations to take action to prohibit election campaigning, canvassing, holding meetings and rallies, demonstrations and marches near the examination centres.

The Examination Department has also banned extra classes and making available the premises of examination centres for any other purpose.

The examination would be held in two phases in view of the general election scheduled to be held on August 17. The first phase would be held from Aug. 04 to Aug 13 and the second session would be from Aug 24 to September 08, the Examination Department sources said.
