Korean premier congratulates Ranil

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Hwang Kyo-ahn, has sent a congratulatory message to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe which commends the efforts of the government towards holding free and fair elections on August 17.

The message also congratulated the Prime Minister on his re-appointment as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka.

The contents of the congratulatory message is as follows;

 "I would like to convey my sincere congratulations on your appointment for a fourth term as Prime Minister of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka following the August 17 election victory.

 "I believe that the outcome of this election reflects the desire and willingness of the people of Sri Lanka to strengthen democracy and restore good governance. The international community is well aware that this election was held in a free and fair manner and that democracy in Sri Lanka is making significant progress.

 "Under your leadership, I hope that Sri Lanka will make smooth progress in further reforming the government and will continue to achieve greater prosperity. I also look forward to working with you to reinforce the ties of friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Korea and the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka".
