‘Graduates and undergraduates throng Rajarata University seeking jobs’

Over 2000 graduates and final year undergraduates thronged the Rajarata University on September 10 to take part in the Careerlead career and entrepreneurship fair, which was organized by the Young Members Forum of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.


The two day event, which is conducted in collaboration with the career guidance unit of the Rajarata University commenced with 45 companies taking part as potential recruiters. Those firms represents, sectors such as ICT, tourism, healthcare, agriculture and manufacturing etc.


From the moment the career fair kicked off, graduates and undergraduates from universities such as Peradeniya, Wayamba, Rajarata, Eastern and Jaffna got registered to be interviewed by the respective recruiters. Apart from the graduates and undergraduates, students from various technical colleges also took part in the hunt for jobs.


Huge numbers also came into take part in various career and entrepreneurship guidance programs, which are being conducted simultaneously at the Rajarata University premises.


Friday was to be the 2nd and the final day of the event, which is backed by ILO, South Asia Gateway Terminal, Peoples Bank, NDB, Dialog, Rexona, Sunshine Health Care, Hayleys, CIC and Royal Holidays. (CCC)
