Minister Samarasinghe sees cementing of good relations with Germany

Skills Development and Vocational Training Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe who was the chief guest at the recent national day of Germany said, "At a time we celebrate 62-years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the bonds between the two nations have been further strengthened."

The German technical Training Institute constructed in Kilinochchi would help solve unemployment issue and create harmony among those of different races and religions, he said.

"There were over 60,000 Sri Lankans living in Germany while around 100,000 German holidaymakers visit Sri Lanka yearly and this cemented the friendship between two nations," the Minister pointed out.

The German Technical Training School at Katubedda, established in 1958 is the best institution in South Asia, providing training on motor mechanism.

The technical institute in Kilinochchi would immensely assist the youth in the northern and eastern provinces and be a vital component of the development plan in the north, Samarasinghe said.
