SLTB claims Rs. 142 mn from UPFA, SLFP for hiring buses

Commercial High Court Judge of Colombo, Shiran Gooneratne will, on Nov. 13, deliver the order in respect of publishing newspaper advertisements, pertaining to a plaint filed by the Sri Lanka Transport Board claiming Rs. 142 million as overdue payments for the use of buses by the UPFA/SLFP during the last presidential election campaign.


Among the respondents, cited in the plaint are the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa, the former General Secretary of the UPFA, the former General Secretary of the SLFP and several others.


Counsel Nalin Amarajeewa appeared for the petitioners, the Sri Lanka Transport Board.
