FCID seeks advice of AG in case against Prasanna Ranatunga

The Financial Crimes Investigations Division, yesterday told Colombo Magistrate Priyantha Liyanage that the advice of the Attorney General had been sought, pertaining to outcome of the investigation against Prasanna Ranatunga the former Chief Minister of the Western Province.


 He is alleged to have demanded Rs. 64 mn from a businessman for filling up a marshy land at Meethotamulla.


 The next date of calling of this case was fixed for August 3, 2016.


 President’s Counsel, Anil Silva, appeared for suspect Ranatunga.
