Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has found that cabinet papers submitted by some ministers are riddled with errors.

PM Wickremesinghe has instructed government’s Economic Affairs Consultant R. Paskaralingam to look into the matter and ensure that the Cabinet papers would be without errors in the future, according to government sources.

A senior minister said the Prime Minister had observed that many papers submitted by ministers seeking the approval of the cabinet recently were full of errors. He found that English translations of most of them were not up to the standard and their grammar was wrong. One ministry had prepared a cabinet paper which carried the name of another ministry.

There had been four such cabinet papers presented to the cabinet at its last meeting and the Prime Minister had ordered that they be referred to a Cabinet Sub-Committee to get errors eliminated, the minister added.
