Police ordered to obtain fingerprints

Minister Range Bandara indicted

Colombo High Court Judge A. A. R. Heiyanthuduwa yesterday served indictment papers on state minister Palitha Range Bandara.


The Attorney General has indicted Range Bandara on a charge of criminal breach of trust for having allegedly received Rs. 500,000 from a person called Dinesh Ratnayake for granting the licence for an SUV valid for five years.


 The counsel for Range Bandara, Kalum Kumarasinghe told the court that an appeal had been made to the Attorney General regarding the accusation.


 The High Court Judge ordered the police to obtain the fingerprints of the accused.


Senior state counsel, Dilan Ratnayake, appeared for the Attorney General.
