MR: Let’s sink differences to help disaster victims

By Cyril Wimalasurendre

KANDY – Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa urged everyone to sink all differences and come forward to assist the disaster victims.

Rajapaksa made this appeal attending a religious function at Weluwana Maha Vihare in Telambugala, Udunuwara on Friday 20 yesterday.

The former president said everyone was duty to bound to help the disaster stricken people. "Let us discard all our differences for the sake of those hapless people crying out for relief.

"We must be thankful to the media for their contribution to relief and rescue operations.

Media has been rendering a valuable service."

A newly built meditation center was opened by the former president.

Kandy District MP Lohan Ratwatte and several others were present.

Villagers gathered at the Vihare rallied round and blessed the former president.
