Kosgama: 21 houses looted after  residents fled to safety

By Norman Palihawadana

Residents in and around the Army’s Central Armoury at Kosgama, which went up in flames last Sunday have complained that 21 houses were robbed after they had vacated them during devastating  explosions there.

"Door and windows of their houses had been broken open jewellery and cash removed by the time they returned the following day," police said.

Police also said an organised gang had been spreading rumours about a bomb threat. They asked the public not to panic.
