Minister of Petroleum Resources Development, Chandima Weerakkody and German Ambassador, Juergen Morhard, visited the Dog Care Clinic at Talpe, Galle recently.

The Clinic, opened in July 2007 by a German woman, Marina Moebius, is well known for its stellar care of puppies and sick dogs left in front of its gate. The facility aims to re-home the dogs within Sri Lanka and provide a safe environment within its premises for disabled and sick dogs for whom a home cannot be found.

Funded through private donations from Germany, the Clinic adheres to western standards and is equipped with facilities for surgery. Post-op, dogs and puppies also have an intensive care unit to aid in faster recovery.
