Sri Lankan excel at London fashion week


Raffealla Fernando is quite a popular figure in the fashion scene. Yes, she is a fashion designer of repute.

This young and talented lady has now graduated and is making her presence felt in the international scene, as well.

At the recently held London fashion week 2016, by House of iKons, the Sri Lankan designer showcased some of her creations, and the feedback was very encouraging.

The event was held, on September 17th, at the Millennium Hotel Mayfair, in London, and featured the creations of many designers, from around the world.

Raffealla Fernando was the only designer, from Sri Lanka. She was, in fact, the first Sri Lankan to participate at the London fashion week by House of iKons.

She was seen at the main fashion show and her designs impressed, bringing her into the media spotlight, continuously.

The London fashion week, by House of iKons, was dedicated to the great music legend Prince.

The event also celebrated the 40th anniversary in support of the Prince’s Trust, the charity of Prince Charles.

Raffealla Fernando has been in the industry for 10 years now, and she has worked with more than 60+ local celebrities, and has displayed her collections in Paris, Milan, the Maldives, India and London. She is also a celebrity photographer, fashion stylist, and a senior fashion lecturer.

The CEO of House of iKons, Savita Kaye, is responsible for giving the Sri Lankan the opportunity to participate in their London fashion week.

Kaye, a fashion celebrity and entrepreneur, gives a platform to designers around the world, helping them reach the media, buyers, and high profiled clients. Designers also get global coverage, via ITV.

Raffealla Fernando, the CEO, founder and designer of the brands RAFFEALLA and DANDELION, says her collection, at the London fashion week, was inspired by the witch hunters and warrior princesses; it is a dark, feminine, seductive, yet a masculine structured collection

She went on to say that she wanted to bring out the strong and fearless man, in every woman, while keeping her feminine and beautiful structure highlighted.
