Kadawatha police are looking for the remaining suspects of an armed gang who got away with Rs. 1.9 million cash, cigarettes worth Rs. 450.000 and a three wheeler in which the fags were being transported at Kiribathgoda in a daylight heist staged day before Christmas.

One suspect was arrested and produced before Mahara Magistrate Aruna Prabath Ranasinghe and remanded till January 4.

The Judge ordered the police to produce the suspect before an identification parade.

The trishaw belongs to a cigarette distributor in Kadawatha and at the time of the incident a salesman was doing his rounds distributing bundles of fags to retail shops.

Before robbing the robbers chased the driver away.

According to police a mobile phone belonging to the driver of the vehicle had been in the trishaw at the time of the robbery and it enabled them to trace the stolen vehicle near Bodhiraja Vidyalaya at Rathupaswela.
